Having records stretching back 100 years before the Mayflower and the pilgrims landed in New England, gives New Mexico something to say about historical accounts. The State is now experiencing the largest wildfire in its recorded history and the fire is expanding. The Whitewater-Baldy blaze in the Gila National Forest has burned nearly 300 square miles is the largest wildfire currently raging in the country.
