It was created by Fernanda Viégas and Martin Wattenberg, members of the Big Picture visualization research group in Cambridge, Mass. Tim DeChristopher was let out of isolation last night after calls to congress apparently put pressure on the government to let him out. He was, he and his lawyers believed, put in there at a congressman’s direction. His supporters call him a political prisoner, and it certainly sounds like it. They had been calling on President Obama to let him out. But why should directions from Washington (allegedly) determine where a prisoner in California spends his nights? It all smells very bad.
