The natural world. Looking pretty for 3.5b years.

95% Certain

Author: Hugh Bollinger/Friday, September 27, 2013/Categories: video, sustainability, environment, climate change, Archive Pick of the Week

The Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change (IPCC) has released its most recent report on causes and consequences of climate change. The report, compiled by climate scientists and environmental researchers from around the world, states with 95% certainly that humans are responsible for increases in global temperatures by releasing CO2 and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

NASA's Center for Climate Simulation and Scientific Visualization has created an animation using climate modeling data to produce visualizations showing temperature and precipitation changes similar to those included in the IPCC report:

Thomas Stocker, co-chair of the climate panel stated: “Climate change is the greatest challenge of our time. In short, it threatens our planet, our only home.”

I wonder how many people are really listening and acting on his words.
