Anyone who has ever hiked a trail, skied a mountain, or camped on a beach will recognize the names of outdoor gear companies like Patagonia, The North Face, or REI. Along with hundreds of other manufacturers and retailers, they comprise an outdoor industry that is now international in scope. Once in January and then again in August, the companies that comprise this industry gather to showcase their latest gear and technology in Salt Lake City, Utah.
While the manufacturers tradeshow is closed to the public, The Conservation Alliance, comprising nearly 200 of the industry's companies, hosts a breakfast presentation open to everyone. In August, TCA will bring Florian Schulz, a conservation photographer and wild landscape advocate, to their breakfast event. Schultz will offer personal perspectives from the Baja Peninsula to the Beaufort Sea of Alaska, the 'wild edge' of a continent. If you're in the area, come early to guarantee a seat as it is always a highly awaited event at the bi-annual gathering.
If you aren't nearby, you can still support the pro-active conservation projects of the Alliance here.
