Big Ben volcano on Australia's Heard Island was captured on video in a spectacular eruption by a research vessil managed by CSIRO, the Australia research organization. The sub-Antarctic mountain is 9000 feet high on one of the most remote islands anywhere on Earth, ~2500 miles southwest of Perth. The uninhabited island is an Australian marine reserve near Antarctica.
