Rivers that boil?

That's a strange concept but Andres Ruzo, completing his PhD in geophysics at Southern Methodist University in Texas, discovered one in Peru. Ruzo  studies alternative energy, especially geothermal resources, and recently conducted an  expediction in the Peruvian Amazon as one of the National Geographic Society's Young Explorers. He has quite a story to tell about his discovery of "the boiling river":
