JPL Travel Posters

Author: Hugh Bollinger/Wednesday, February 17, 2016/Categories: photography, space science, art and design, environment, adventure

If you thought scientists and engineers were often dull and boring types, the folks at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory will change that opinion. The Lab based at CalTech in Pasadena has created a series of travel posters to exlore some very exotic locations...think Titan, Enceladus, and Mars...to create imaginative images of future travel destinations.

The JPL illustrators used classic California art deco fruit-crate design styles, to suggest:

"the edge of possibility so that someday a new generation of innovators and explorers might help these visions of the future to become a reality."

JPL has been pushing the envelope of space exploration for generations with its clever engineering and scientific accomplishments so maybe these posters are a fitting tribute to their discoveries. You can download full, wall poster-sized, images from the JPL's Visions of the Future website to decorate that young explorer's bedroom so he/she can gain future ideas for "places to go and things to see".
