After sleeping silently for decades, the Calbuco volcano in southern Chile has erupted in spectacular fashion. Displacing thousands of people, spewing lava down the slopes, and sending ash more than a mile high into the atmosphere, the volcano erupted twice in as many hours with more eruptions possible. A remote video-cam captured the stunning display of raw volcanic power for Chilean television.
