The Real Moonwalker, Remembered Forever

Getting to talk to Neil Armstrong remains one of the highlights of my life. Like interviewing Columbus, Magellan or Balboa. 500 or 1,000 years from now, when nobody has any idea what the Vietnam War was about or what the public option was, they will remember Neil Armstrong, and the time when Americans first stepped on the moon.

He was quiet and shy, obviously deep and emotional. Here's a story on him re-opening my town's airport with a new and safer runway, from Dec. 09. He liked the dangerous, rickety, old, skid-off-into-the-canyon runway better. A guy who liked to take a few risks, and America is better for it. RIP.
