Old Faithful on the Moon

[NASA conception of what the geysers might look like.]
By Reilly Capps

Space is dead, as far as we know, but the heavenly bodies themselves are almost alive.

Jupiter's moon Europe has been spotted shooting plumes of water 200 kilometers high -- you read that right, 300 miles.

Why not go check that out? Mars is cool but there aren't any fireworks like that.

NASA and the European Space Agency are eyeing journeys to Europa -- with probes, of course, not humans.

There's as much water -- in the form of ice -- of Europa as there is on Earth. We probably can't surf there, but scientists aren't ruling out the possibility of life under the icy crust.

All the moons of Jupiter are cool. Like a mix and match of planets, all in the same neighborhood. Old Faithfuls out the ying yang. Lots of good opportunities for tourist shots.
