You've probably have never heard of a Medicane (Mediterranean hurricane) before. That's because they're rare. However, one is in the early stages of forming off Libya now. The hurricane has already produced torrential rains and flooding in Italy and Greece and is heading in their direction as an intense storm later in this week. Temperature and wind speed data has been compiled into an animation showing the storm and its growing strength today.
