Everyone wanted to join-in and support the Earth Day gatherings, marches, and presentations. Even a troop of African penguins marched for science and the environment at the Monterey Bay Aquarium exhibition hall. The penguins were particularly important participants. As the most iconic of Antarctic wildlife, their Antarctic habitats are under serious threat from climate change. Some species are now considered endangered. The organization Oceanites had just released a State of the Antarctic Penguins report the week before Earth Day so the the March of the Penguins for Science was especially timely.
