Brent Bishop, mountaineer, conservationist, businessman, writer, and colleague of this Journal just returned from Nepal where he help lead an expedition to Mount Everent. Brent captured imagery during the successful climb including photographs in the Khumbu icefall zone on the mountain. An Eddie Bauer/First Ascent video illustrates the skills required to undertake expeditions to the Everest region. As the master photographer Ansel Adams famously showed with his imagery of the Sierra Nevada, black and white photography brings out stunning details often masked by color.
