Big Questions and Quantum Biology

Author: Hugh Bollinger/Wednesday, April 20, 2016/Categories: natural history, video, sustainability, environment

How do all the species making up a tropical rainforest or coral reef interact and evolove? How do whales migrate thousands of miles under water and know which way is up, down. or the  direction they are going? How is the DNA translating all the encoded information while still evolving? How does the brain function at micro and macro levels to create conscientiousness, learning, and personality? How do the biosphere, geosphere, and atmosphere all interact and moderate the Earth's climate? These are just a few of the really big questions in biology.

The theoretical physicist, Jim al-Khalili, believes answers may come from the emerging field of quantum biology.
