Conservation photography is the direct application of photo-journalism and videography to advocate for conservation. Well known photographers such as Ansel Adams, Galen Rowell, and James Balog have each used their visual talent to bring an appreciation of national parks, mountain cultures, and climate change. The ocean photographer Thomas Peschak has used his skills to showcase how the visual image can assist in conservation of marine wildlife and ocean environments.
