The Wider Image, Re-imagining Photography

The news organization Reuters asked photographers to re-imagine their subjects. The Wider Image, gathered together images for a series called, Earthprints, to be presented at the UN climate change conference in Paris in November. Here are selections from an investigation of Switzerland's Aletsch Glacier. The glacier is one of Europe's most famous alpine ice rivers and has existed since the Pleistocene era.
It can be seen from space and will likely disappear in one generation:
