Coming up with new and sustainable designs for architectural, robotic, or otherwise useful products is a long process. It should take more advantage of the results of evolution by using  biomimicry  or designing from nature. Evolution's slow process of selection and re-selection of efficient designs that servive the test of time offer useful analogs for engineers, designers, and builders.
