St. Patrick's Day...in space

Author: Hugh Bollinger/Tuesday, March 17, 2015/Categories: natural history, art and design

Patrick of Ireland  is the patron saint of the country. He arrived in Ireland c. 430 AD as a missionary to Christianize the population beyond control of the Romans. He is often depicted clothed in green and holding a shamrock like that verdant country of his birth. To honor Patrick's birthday, celebrations now occur wherever the Irish occur. It is fitting for astronauts to also celebration from the safe distance of outer space.
