Villarrica Volcano
in Chile has awoken. In a spectacular nighttime show, lava fountains shooting 2000 feet high have shot from the pyramidal  stratovolcano  since it began erupting.

Chile's 24-Horas TV captured the fountains in a short video of the first night explosions.



What isn't seen are the ice-cap glaciers surrounding the peak that are also melting in their own show of nature's power. The 9360 mountain is violently de-glaciating and floods are expected in the valleys below.
