Author: Hugh Bollinger/Wednesday, September 3, 2014/Categories: birds, humor

Appropriate Technology has been a "fashion statement" in international development circles for many years. The concept envisions technological choices that are "small-scale, decentralized, labor-intensive, energy-efficient, environmentally sound, and locally applied to complex problems." Billions of dollars have been spent on international conferences and projects which may or may not have accomplished the goals they were supposed to address.
