California Turns Brown

Author: Hugh Bollinger/Friday, July 18, 2014/Categories: photography, sustainability, environment, climate change

It is common knowledge that the state of California is experiencing its worse droughts in recorded history. Water restrictions are in place everywhere and it is getting worse with each passing month.

NASA has released two photographs that make vegetation comparisons between 2011 and 2014 and the situation takes on a different dimension from this perspective. The US Drought Monitor has declared extreme conditions for 79 percent of the State and exceptional conditions in 36 percent.
