X-ray'd

Author: Hugh Bollinger/Tuesday, June 10, 2014/Categories: photography

X-ray's have come quite a long ways since the first image of hand was captured in 1895 by Wilhelm Rontgen in Germany. The ability to see details within objects has proven to be one of the most important and useful scientific inventions in the 19th Century onwards.

X-rays continue to show amazing detail as a recent image from the Chandra observatory shows of the Whirlpool Galaxy.

Besides the increase in details, the new Chandra x-ray images are amazingly beautiful.
