You ever see those gobstoppers, where the deeper you go down on it, the more it changes color?

Maybe Mars is like that. A whole planet of different colored layers.

When a meteor hit it sometime in the last few years, it blue-ified an otherwise deep-red world.

Based on this new information, here is scientific schematic of the fourth planet from the sun.

 The next rover we send up there should have a tongue.
