Proof that Global Warming is a Lie ... Or Else That You Should Brush More

Christian Broadcasting Network puts its foot in its snaggle-toothed mouth

Here's a clip that's fun to hate, filed under the YouTube headline "proof that global warming is a lie":

I also love that Christian Broadcasting Network uses data gathered by The Economist to say that global warming isn't happening -- then feels compelled to point out that the same article in The Economist says it is happening. So the "proof" that it isn't happening comes from an article that says it is happening.

Here's a sample quote from The Economist article they cited:

"(Arctic sea ice disappearance) is a stunning illustration of global warming, the cause of the melt. It also contains grave warnings of its dangers. The world would be mad to ignore them."

But the CBN anchors apparently didn't read the article all the way down to the fourth paragraph. Instead, the CBN anchors Skype some nobody weatherman with bad teeth, who, by dismissing man-made global warming, shows that he not only doesn't understand cause-and-effect when it comes to climate, he doesn't understand cause-and-effect when it comes to brushing.

I don't get why it's Christian not to believe in global warming. I don't understand what those two things have to do with each other.

Are there other religions that take a position on unrelated phenomena? Do Hindus disbelieve in osteoporosis? Do Scientologists dispute basic pharmacology? Do Sikhs disagree with relativity?

Then why are these Christians trying to be scientists?
