Earth Day 2017 happens again on April 22nd.

Here are 3 suggestions you might consider in support of our environment:

1. A Global idea:

NASA has a idea to adopt a piece of Planet Earth. The space agency is inviting people from around the world to celebrate Earth Day by 'adopting' one of 64,000 individual locations that have been photographed by one of the agency's Earth-orbiting satellites. NASA said:

"we study the Earth from the air we breathe, to rain and snow that provide water for agriculture and communities, to natural disasters such as droughts and floods, and to the oceans, which cover 70 percent of planet's surface proviging food for many people around the world."

The satellite view of Earth offers a perspective that can't be gained from the ground. Cicrling high about the Earth, the space robots observe where people live and see the remotest deserts, mountains, and oceans which are difficult if not impossible environments to visit. Go to Adopt the Earth and select any location on Earth that you wish to explore and understand. You will receive a satellite photograph that was captured from there.

2. A Local idea: join with a group in your area for a day of direct environmental support of a beach, trail, or park clean-up program; attend a lecture on any environmental subject that interests you or; or show support for scientific research as an essential non-partisan part of discovery, learning, and technological advance and attend a public gathering:

3. A Recreation idea: Corporate members of The Conservation Alliance are participating in a special Earth Day campaign, We Keep It Wild, to help the conservation organization. Manufacturers including Royal Robbins, Arc'teryx, Merrell, Garmont, and other brands are involved nationwide. With each product sale during the campaign, the company will donate a percentage to TCA for their ongoing efforts at protecting wild and scenic landscapes and to restore degraded rivers, trails, and beaches. Individuals can help the We Keep it Wild effort even without going into a store by providing a direct Earth Day donation.

It doesn't matter how you honor Earth Day but what is important is doing something to show that you understand the importance of environment and matters of sustainability.
