Organizations including Save the Redwoods League, the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, and the North Carolina Coastal Land Trust were among 20 national groups to receive funding for their ongoing environmental work from The Conservation Alliance. The alliance of outdoor manufacturers and retailers made the bi-annual awards in their winter announcement. Originally, TCA was established by four outdoor companies, The North Face, Patagonia, Kelty, and REI but the Alliance is now represented by over 200 manufacturing and retail members. Annual dues from these companies go direclty to support organizations like the above who are doing important work to protect outdoor recreation opportunities and natural landscapes throughout North America.
Public landscapes are a vital resource and are under increasing threat everywhere. They deserve all everyone's support. As a reader of this Journal, you have an opportunity to join with these fine companies and organization with a personal donation to help this valuable environmental work continue.
