China's Tidal River

China has ancient accounts throughout its long history of massive flooding and destruction from rivers like the Yellow and Yangtze destroying entire farms and villages. The Qiantang River in Zhejiang Province produces a tidal bore that can only be described as impressive. One of the largest ever recorded was last year during September and October:

It isn't too advisable to stand along the waterfront when the river decides to surges as some drone footage shows:
