CRISPR (Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats) allows researchers the ability to change specific sequences of DNA and guarantee that the resulting edited genetic trait is inherited by future generations of plants or animals. The technology's benefits and concerns are addressed by journalist Jennifer Kahn as the genetic technology has been rapidly adopted by biotechnology laboratories worldwide.
