Bhutan: Not Just Carbon Neutral...Carbon Negative

The Himalayan nation of Bhutan is many things: beautiful, densely forested, Buddhist, and has set a very high-bar for environmental preservation by aiming to become one of the first carbon negative countries in the world. As one of his first acts after he and his wife had a baby, the king of Bhutan celebrated the birth of his child by planting over 100,000 trees.

Tshering Tobgay, the country's prime minister, spoke about his nation's dedication to nature conservation as part of their national "pursuit of happiness" in a recent presentation. We could all learn tp be more environmentally mindful by putting into practice some of the Bhutanese thinking:
