Light-painting is a photographic technique that creates eerily beautiful images with a flashlight, candle, or some other light source used in a long exposure, usually at night. Nature can produce the same effect if you're in the right place at the right time. NASA's Terra satellite passing over the Lesser Antillies captured an image of sun-glint on the ocean in front of the islands and the dark island's wakes behind.

TERRA's natural 'light painting' could easily be suitable to hang on an abstract art gallery wall.
