NeXTgen Sagan?

Author: Hugh Bollinger/Friday, April 11, 2014/Categories: Uncategorized

We need many more science enthusiasts, explorers, and researchers like the late Carl Sagan. Who might be waiting somewhere to become the Carl or Carla for the next generation?

Perhaps it will be one of these young scientists who were selected to receive a 2014 Sagan 'exoplanet' fellowship. The fellowship was created by Caltech to inspire the next generation of explorers seeking to learn more about planets, and possibly life, around other stars and planets.

Now the awards should be expanded to included opportunities for marine biologists, climatologists, ecologists, plant researchers, and all other scientific endeavors. That would be a very fitting tribute to the late Sagan's enthusiasm for all things science.
