Hole on Mars

A random photograph captured by the cameras on the HiRise orbitor as it circled above Mars show a deep hole. It is very curious. A hole appears to have been punched into the Martian surface.The hole is ~100 feet deep with an opening of ~60 feet in diameter. When you have an open geological structural in the Martian landscape, the opportunity for life-friendly conditions exist.

How was it created? Could it have been a direct hit of a meteorite striking a near-surface cavern? perhaps a lava tube that collapsed inward? or maybe it is the entrance to a labyrinth of caves leading down into the Martian crust.

Your guess is as good as NASA's at this point.
