The Cosmos is All That Is ... Cool

The Cosmos is All That Is ... Cool

If you're a nerd, you've watched Carl Sagan's version of Cosmos over and over and over again, to the point that the logo is on the verge of being burned into your screen.

In just two weeks, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Ann Druyan and Seth MacFarlane debut their new version of Cosmos. I need to find some Sheldon-level geeks to watch it with. I need to treat it like a Super Bowl, with nacho cheese dip and bets on pointless things – will Neil Degrasse Tyson get a haircut, or will he let his Afro shine like the corona of the sun? How many clips from the first Cosmos will be featured in the first episode? The over-under is three.

The show just released some cool trailers. Get excited, nerds.

Here's DeGrasse Tyson interviewed on it

And a really long teaser:

And someone at Comic Con recorded (poorly) a sneak peak of the beginning of the series. It opens with some of your round-Earth heroes: medieval bad ass and nerd martyr Giordano Bruno, Epicurus-loving Lucretius, and also your villains, the medieval Catholic church, who tend to have bad PR, based on a few small mistakes such as the Crusades and murdering and torturing hundreds of thousands.

The point is: thinkers are cool, the universe is big.

It premieres March 9. Get your dip.
