Transition Lab

The Colorado based organization, Transition Lab, was the recipient of an MIT Climate Co-lab Social Solutions Contest award. Besides presenting their work at the famous engineering school, the Lab shared their approach building sustainable communities at liberal-arts and work-learning-service colleges in New England and a large public institution in Colorado.

The Lab's team members encountered an existential angst in many students going to colleges today. This is caused by being saddled with large debts working for degrees that then requires them to spend their lives paying off the debt waiting tables for lack of meaningful jobs.
