The Whale Updates

Author: Hugh Bollinger/Thursday, October 10, 2013/Categories: natural history, photography, marine mammals, sustainability, environment

Great Australian friends and past contributors to Riled Up, Wayne & Pam Osborn, have completed another season of whale monitoring. From joining an expedition tracking the rare, dwarf minke whales off Queensland's Great Barrier Reef to counting humpback births in Western Australia's Exmouth Bay, the retired business executive and his wife, a master wildlife photographer, have been very busy. Their work in environmental conservation is impressive indeed.

Many folks retire and just get bored. That can hardly be said about this Aussie duo and their "second life" contributing to whale research. You can read their latest report on the Queensland whale expedition here: The Whale Diaries

The Osborn's keep showing us that anyone can contribute to environmental knowledge.
