Australia All Over is a national radio treasure

Author: Hugh Bollinger/Wednesday, August 21, 2013/Categories: sustainability, environment

One of the best radio programs anywhere is Australia All Over from Radio National. Produced by Ian McNamara, the weekly mix of eclectic commentary on all things rural attracts listeners and call-in reports from across Australia for a chat with "Macca". It is a national treasure.

On Sunday, August 18th, Macca programmed a commentary on "Weeds" during his show. The interview focused on Bushcare, a national environmental restoration organization, and their efforts to control invasive species choking-out native plants and animals. The project showcased an effort by folks who went, at their own expense, to remove weeds and restore an island. The program not only discussed an important environmental issue but also the admirable quality of Aussie's to volunteer and contribute to community service.

The entire Sunday show can be heard at:  Macca 'on demand'

So pull up a chair at the desk, computer, or kitchen table and give a listen to Australia All Over. You might even be inspired to call Macca wherever you live rural or urban yourself.
