Photo Contest

SWP Media is running a photo contest.

Author: Hugh Bollinger/Tuesday, May 7, 2013/Categories: photography, adventure

The West Ridge of Mount Everest was first climbed by two mountaineers in 1963. It remains one of the most treacherous routes up the mountain.

SWP Media is presenting a two week photo contest for contributors to upload their personal travel, adventure, or outdoor photographs to our new  Slideshow Forum . The contest will run from Tuesday, May 7 thru Tuesday May 21. Submitters may upload 3 separate photos for viewer consideration. The contest is open to international submitters as well. The three top photos, as judged by viewer "likes" or number of comments, will receive a professionally produced poster of this famous Everest ridgeline ascent.

The photograph on the poster was by Barry Bishop of the National Geographic Society, a member of the pioneering expedition in 1963, and shows two climbers at the bottom of the image. It is one of the most famous photographs ever taken of Mt. Everest.
